Glossybox November

Another lovely box from Glossybox arrived on my doorstep last week. Recently Glossybox have really upped their game in my eyes; the box is really good value for what you receive and I thoroughly enjoy using all the products inside.

Elegant Touch Rapid Dry for Nails - I've wanted to try one of these nail dryer sprays for a while, but wasn't really sure where to get them so I was happy to see this jump out at me. When I first tried this, I wasn't very impressed because it didn't dry my nails quickly at all, but I think that I put too thick a coat on. I tried it again the next time I painted my nails and it worked much better, and my nails really did pretty much dry in 60 seconds.

Yves Rocher Cocoa & Pistachio Hand Cream - I already have one of these hand creams in cocoa & raspberry and so pretty much knew what to expect. I do like the smell of this hand cream but I find it takes quite a while to sink into the skin, which isn't the most convenient, especially whilst applying in school because I find my pen quite slippery afterwards.

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush - Also another product I own in a different shade, so I knew pretty much what to expect. This product is really mosturizing on the lips so is a pleasure to apply and wear. The colour I have is a red / orange, although it doesn't look it in the tube. I find it lasts a decent time on the lips before starting to fade.

Emite Make Up Micronized Eyeshadow - Dams - I'd never heard of this company before so was intrigued to try this product out. I really like this eyeshadow. I find it a lovely shade with just the correct amount of shimmer. It's very pigmented and applies beautifully to the lid.

Vichy Idealia Life Serum - I really like this serum. It's very light so feels really fresh once applied to the skin and sinks in quickly. The scent is very light and fresh which is perfect as I don't like strong smelling creams or serums.

Another really good box this month from Glossybox. Did you get this months box? What did you think?

Glossybox October

Another month has gone by and it's time again to review this months Glossybox. This month provided another good Glossybox, which I'm really pleased about. The theme to this months box was Dark Romance, which I think proved quite appropriate for the contents of the box.

MeMeMe Cherub's Blush Cheek and Lip Tint - This was the product I found hardest to use. I love the colour tint it gives when applied to the lips as it gives a really nice cherry tint, but I find it looks a little too bright on the cheeks. I would prefer if it was of a slightly darker tone.

Premae Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum - I love this product, it smells so nice and is so lovely to apply. I really feel like it hydrates my skin and is just lovely. After applying this to my skin I use my daily moisturiser to thoroughly nourish my skin.

Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure - I was excited to see these in my box as I've always wanted to try imPRESS nails, but have never got round to buying them. These were really pretty and super easy to apply, but I'm not a 100% loving the stick. Because they're not glued on, I find that I have to be really careful whilst they're on my nails in case of any coming loose. They stayed on my nails for about 3 days, which I guess isn't too bad.

Monu Illuminating Primer - I love the brand Monu so was glad to see another product from them. I enjoyed using this product as I found that it does illuminate my skin and also softens my skin slightly.

Katy Perry Killer Queen Fragrance - I'm not a massive fan of receiving vials in my Glossybox as they really are small and you can easily go to a shop and test it out for free. I like this scent, but I do find it incredibly strong. I wouldn't buy this product because it's too strong for me, but I wore it in the evening when I went out with my friends. I think it's more of an evening scent as it's quite dark, if that makes sense.

Did you get Glossybox this month? What did you think?

Glossybox September

I know I am so late for this, but I only ordered this about 5 days ago and received the box yesterday, and I was so impressed with it that I had to post about it. This months Glossybox was themed around London Fashion Week.

Eylure Pre-glued Lashes - I have never owned or worn a pair of false lashes before but have always been intrigued to try some so I was quite pleased to see this pair in my box. I think they're a lovely shape and aren't too thick or peculiar shaped like some lashes I've seen before. It also helps that they are pre-glued so as I don't have to make a huge mess trying to apply them. I haven't used these yet as I'm saving them for a special occasion.

Toni & Guy Classic Shine & Gloss Serum - I've never tried a hair serum before so I was quite excited to see how much of a difference it makes to the hair. I applied 1 pump of this to the ends of my hair and instantly my hair looked 100% shinier! So long as you don't apply this anywhere near your roots, your hair will look so much shinier and glossier! Love!

Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips - I was slightly bemused to see this in the box as I've never really heard of 'nipple balm' before. It says that you can apply this to your lips or to any dry areas you have and can even use it as a brow gel. I used this on a really dry patch I have on my foot (nice!) and instantly felt that the patch was a lot smoother and a lot more hydrated. Very impressed.

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Onyx Eye Liner - I was really looking forward to using this product when I saw it in my box, but unfortunately I was extremely disappointed, not by the product itself, but the lack of product. Yep, the tube was completely empty! No matter how hard I shook it nothing came out and when I tapped the tube it sounded completely hollow. Very disappointed with that.

HD Brows Bronzer - Another item I was very excited to see. I haven't tried anything from HD Brows before, but really want to try out the brow pallet. This is a beautiful bronzer that doesn't have too much shimmer or glitter in it (perfect!) and is really pigmented so you don't need much at all. I love the packaging of this bronzer as it has a little flip lid that covers the bronzer when you open the pallet and also comes with a handy mirror.

All in all, I was very impressed with this box, especially the value of the box which calculates to over £40! The only disappointment was of course the empty eye liner.

What did you think of this months box?

September Wishlist

I love autumn and winter and always feel that I have much more time to shop during this time of the year. I have quite a wishlist for the month of September, which obviously I won't be able to get most of the things on my list, especially seeing as there is a pair of Acne boots on this list (I wish!). But I do hope to stock up on checked shirts and beautiful nail polishes.

What's on your wishlist for this month?

Red Lips

I love a good red lip, but I don't always have the confidence to wear one. I thought I'd give you a look into my red lipsticks (not that I have many). I'm hoping to grow in confidence so that I can wear these beautiful shades more often.

Revlon lip butter in the shade Red Velvet 040 - This is a recent purchase I made and I hope to get a lot of ware out of it this autumn and winter. It's the perfect dark red and feels so glossy and smooth on my lips. Love this lipstick and I can tell it will be a staple this year.

Chanel rouge allure in the shade Pirate 99 - I bought this lipstick for my prom this year because I thought it would be the perfect colour for my dress. I adore this lipstick. It applies so smoothly to my lips and it is so pigmented. The colour is slightly darker in person.

Yves Rocher moisturising creme lipstick in the shade Fromboise 101 - I received this lipstick in a previous Glossybox. Honestly I wouldn't have bought this lipstick because I find it too bright to wear very often so this is a lipstick I save for a specific outfit or event. the formula of the lipstick however is very nice and creamy.

Baby Lips in the shade Cherry Me - I was so excited when Baby Lips came across the border and into our stores here in the UK. So far I have two colours and would like to expand my collection to have every single colour, which shouldn't take too long as they are so cheap. This is the perfect tinted lipbalm which gives my lips a subtle red look without being too dramatic. Love it.

I have yet to try the Kate Moss lipsticks for Rimmel.
Any recommendations on what red lipstick to purchase next?

Yves Rocher haul

During my recent trip to France, I visited the Yves Rocher shop in my local town. Yves Rocher is a brand that I own a few products from so know that their products are of a high quality. The shop was also holding a big sale when I went, so I bought a few things.

I bought 5 shower gels because they were only 1.50 each and all smelled divine. I always like to have a selection of scents because it's nice to be able to switch things around sometimes. I bought the scents Ylang Ylang, Tiare flower, Orange, Lime and Lavender. They lather really well and leave a subtle scent on the skin after showering.

I bought two lipsticks as they were only 3 . Numberr 42 is a creamy lipstick that applies smoothly onto the lips. It's quite pigmented and would be a lovely colour for the beginning of autumn. In the tube, the lipstick looks quite shimmery, but the shimmer doesn't really transfer onto the lips.
Number 12 is also very creamy and very easy to apply. It's a really pretty nude-pink and has a very slight shimmer to it. The lipsticks last quite well throughout the day, needing probably 2-3 top ups.

I received this moisturiser in a Glossybox a few months ago and loved it. It's such a light moisturiser that it feels lovely to apply in the mornings on a sunny day. To me this smells of melons which is lovely and refreshing. It contains ash tree sap extract, macadamia oil, shea butter and organic witch hazel water and comes in a lovely glass jar. The cream isn't too thick so doesn't need lots of time to work it into the skin, but there is one problem I gave with it which is it takes a while yo absorb, so this isn't one for using when in a hurry to apply make up over the top.

This body lotion is quite a thick lotion, but absorbs really well into the skin. It smells deliciously citrusy and the scent really lingers on the skin which I like. I love that it's in a bottle like this because it's easy to get the product out.

Kiko nail polishes

I've recently returned from a trip to France and whilst I was out there, I discovered a brand of make up I'd never heard of before; Kiko Make up Milano. I was really impressed by the store - the counters were full of colour coordinated make up and everything was very fairly priced. What really caught my attention was the nail polishes - they were lined up on shelves, all colour coordinated perfectly. These are the four shades I picked up:

317 - Dark antique pink

224 - Dark pearly copper

381 - Purple grey

217 - Antique pink

The nail polishes are in my opinion very impressive for only 2.50. You only need two coats for a completely opaque finish. The finish is so shiny that it's not really necessary for a top coat. I've been wearing the shade 224 for almost a week now without a top coat or a base coat and have experienced very minimal chipping. I highly recommend anybody to go and check out their website http://www.kikocosmetics.co.uk/ . They are currently holding a very good sale so be sure to go and check it out soon!

Glossybox July

Apologies that this post is so late! I have no excuse really except for laziness! Anyway, this is this months Glossybox, which I, amongst  many others I've heard, was quite impressed with. The box was absolutely beautiful this month, inspired by the ocean and the contents of the box were very appropriate for the glorious weather we have been experiencing this month.

Anatomicals Spray mist for me facial spritz - This was perfect for those hot sweaty beach days this month. It's a lovely facial spritz that smells like lavender, which I do like the smell of but I also think of lavander as being more of a cozy smell so I would have rathered if the scent was slightly more refreshing.

Alterna Haircare Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist - I was quite excited to receive this because I've wanted to try out a beachy-wavy-hair mist for some time. I find that the product is very sticky once sprayed onto the hair though, which is very disappointing. I do however like the visible results it gives to my hair. My hair is quite wavy anyway, so I use this on second day hair when the waves are not quite so defined. This is what it looked like once sprayed onto the right hand side of my hair only:

And this is what it looks like sprayed all over. I promise my hair doesn't normally look quite this frizzy and dry - bad hair day!

Coola Organic Suncare Collection Coola Mineral Face SPF 20 Rose Essence Tint - This was another weather appropriate product and just the right SPF. However I haven't used this product yet because I already have another face SPF and wanted to finish that before moving on.

Pukka Ayurveda Radiance Serum - This is supposed to be applied thinly before moisturising on top. I'm not a huge fan of this because I find the texture to be very strange - it's not heavy at all, but almost slimy - not a massive fan!

Ciate London Paint Pot in the colour Pocket Money - I love Ciate nail polishes so I was delighted to see one in this months box. I like the colour of this as well so that's great. This applies nicely to the nails, only needing two coats to be opaque.

All in all I was impressed by this months box and hope Glossybox continue with more great boxes like this one.
Did you get this months Glossybox? If so what did you think?

Prom

Last week I had my prom. This was an event that I have been excited for for ages, and I couldn't wait to get all dressed up! I really enjoyed my night and everyone looked lovely. It was a really nice event to say goodbye to those who wouldn't be returning to sixth form next year and also just a lovely night to enjoy with friends.
